INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - A family of three lost their home in a burning blaze early Sunday morning.
According to reports, the mother, Toni Kelly, heard the smoke detectors go off, but thought it was a fluke.
The smoke detectors continued to sound, where Kelly then went downstairs and found her family room full of smoke.
She quickly ran upstairs and grabbed her two children, ages 17 and 3, and they evacuated and called 911.
The Indianapolis Firefighters arrived on the scene, seeing heavy smoke coming from the windows of the two story home. They aggressively fought the fire, which had spread throughout the home and into the attic.
The damage to the home caused it to be a total loss.
According to reports, the family has insurance to assist with the damage and will stay with family due to the loss of their home.
